US Citizenship Test Out Loud

The real test is a conversation. An officer asks you questions out loud, and you answer out loud. This app is built around that.

What it does

• Hear each question read aloud and answer with your voice. The app shows you what it heard, so you can tell a wrong answer apart from a microphone problem.
• Covers both tests in use: the 2025 version with 128 questions, and the older 100-question version for anyone who filed Form N-400 before October 20, 2025.
• A practice test scored the way the real one is — and it stops the moment your result is decided, exactly as the officer does.
• Every accepted answer, written as USCIS publishes it. Most questions accept several, and knowing that is part of arriving calm.
• Your state's capital, senators and governor, each shown with the date it was verified.

Your voice stays on your iPhone

Speech recognition runs on the device. Your voice is not recorded, not stored and not sent anywhere. There is no account and no server of ours. The people using this are in the middle of an immigration process; that seemed like the only reasonable way to build it.

What it costs

The questions, the flashcards, the practice test and your state's answers are free, with no ads. They are public material published by the government.

The interview mode is a single payment. No subscription — you are studying for a test, not renting a gym. When you pass, you are done with us.
